2018 Season Preview: Impact Players- Catchers
Colton Cassinelli- Queen Creek HS: One of the top left handed bats in the class. Colton hit .397 last season and was a force for Wilson Sandlot over the summer and fall. He’s a good catch and throw guy with some arm strength. Colton is a University of Washington signee.
Jacob Vesecky- O’Connor HS: An Evansville University signee, Jake hit .345 last season and his offensive game seemed to really pick up in the offseason. He’s always been a very capable defender with good leadership intangibles. Look for a big year with the bat from Jake.
Brady Welch- Liberty HS: One of the most physical backstops in this group at 6-3 210, Brady was excellent defensively as a junior and hit .357 with 5 bombs for the Lions. He has good agility for a big guy and is a solid receiver with playable arm strength. Brady has signed with Central Arizona College.
Britt Graham- Hamilton HS: Britt took over behind the dish for the Huskies last spring and was an immediate impact guy. He earned 2nd Team All Region honors after hitting .391 and defending very well all season. Britt is a New Mexico State signee.
Dante Deniro- Catalina Foothills HS: As a junior Dante was named 1st Team All Region and 2nd Team All Conference after hitting .397 with 3 homers and 10 doubles. He’s an athletic receiver behind the plate. Dante is a Grand Canyon signee.
Joe Terlizzi- Notre Dame Prep:A very solid defender who was named 2nd Team All Region in 2017, Joe will attend The University of Texas- Arlington.
Haydn McGeary- Thunderbird HS: One of the top power bats in the class, Haydn was named 1st Team All Conference after hitting .452 with 7 homers for the Chiefs. He has committed to Colorado Mesa University.
Jack Silverman- Desert Mountain HS: Jack is a strong bodied 6-2 210 backstop with some arm strength and plus bat speed. He had a very good fall with the Diamondbacks Scout Team. Jack is a Yavapai College signee.
Randy Hutson- Red Mountain HS: Randy is one of the more athletic catchers in this group. He has very good quickness and a strong arm. A switch hitter at the plate, Randy has signed with Gateway College.

Eddie Niemann- Pinnacle
Mitchell Ortega- Willow Canyon
Mark Ossanna- Seton

Max Peoples- Arcadia
Jake Robson- Mountain Ridge
Ethan Snodgrass- Sunrise Mountain HS: Ethan’s calling card is the bat. He hit .479 as a sophomore and continued to show improvement at the plate in the offseason with the AZ Athletics. He’s a solid 6-1 185 but looks leaner than that. There is plenty of room for additional strength. He has enough pop in the bat to keep him in the lineup as a 1B at the next level as well.
Dylan Skov- Cactus Shadows HS: Very athletic 5-11 170 pound catcher. Started most of the season as a sophomore for the Falcons. He was very solid defensively, clean receiving actions and a strong accurate arm. At the plate he hit .267 but I expect a lot more production this spring.
Trey Newman- Pinnacle HS: Trey caught my eye this fall playing with the Canyon Thunder Club Team. He has a strong on field presence with natural leadership intangibles. He does a great job handling pitchers and showed off some plus arm strength as well. He has very soft hands and frames the baseball well. He’ll be competing with a returning senior this spring so how much he plays will be a question.
Max Callarman- Casteel HS: Max hit .416 as a sophomore with 19 doubles. He’s a converted middle infielder so a very athletic backstop who is still learning the position. He threw out a respectable 34.4% of base stealers last season.
