Matthew Liberatore-LHP Mountain Ridge HS: Coming off a 2017 year that started off great and only got better as the year went on, Matthew is projected to be very early pick in the June MLB Draft. After a dominant junior season where he went 8-0 with a .79 ERA and 97 punch outs in 62 innings, he only got better during the Area Code games and with Team USA . He’s reaching the mid 90s with the fastball on a regular basis and has 2 above average secondary pitches. Matthew has signed with the University of Arizona but its highly unlikely that he makes it to campus.

Chandler Murphy- RHP Liberty HS: A fixture at Liberty since his freshman year, Chandler is a 6-4 right hander with an advanced repertoire and a low 90s fastball. He has an excellent changeup and an effective 2 plane breaking ball as well. He went 7-2 with a 1.77 ERA last spring. Chandler is a U of Arizona commit.
Davis Heller- RHP Mesquite HS: A towering 6-6 right hander, Davis moved into the state prior to last season and immediately paid dividends for Coach Jeff Holland and the Wildcats. He led the team with 57 innings pitched with a 1.47 ERA and 70 Ks. Davis is committed to the University of Oklahoma.
Kai Murphy- LHP Red Mountain HS: Kai worked 42 innings for the Lions in 2017 and averaged a K per inning with a 1.80 ERA. He’s exceptionally athletic with great balance. He varies the delivery, almost quick pitching at times, and is a matchup nightmare. He’s typically mid 80s with the fastball with a bugs bunny changeup and off the chart pitchability. Kai is an Oregon State commit.

He is awaiting a ruling from the AIA regarding his transfer and whether he will have to sit half the power point games. The University of Arizona commit works in the low 90s with a lightning quick arm.
Jacob Henderson- RHP- Mesquite HS: With the depth of pitching at mesquite, Jacob will fight for innings but will start in the outfield. He’s a low ¾ arm slot guy who produces ridiculous arm side run and sink. The velo typically sits in the mid 80’s but he has a super quick arm that has more in the tank.
Shane Murphy- LHP Hamilton HS: After a promising start to the 2017 season, a freak foot injury sidelined Shane for much of the season. He returned late in the year and finished with 17 innings pitched and an ERA of 2.06. He’s been money all offseason for AZ Sandlot, with the velo in the 85-87 range and a 2 plane breaker that is an out pitch to go along with a nice changeup. Shane has committed to Grand Canyon.
Danny Sotelo- LHP Corona del Sol HS: Danny has been in the Aztec rotation since his freshman year. He’s a 3 pitch lefty with a nice changeup. I’ve seen 84-86 on the gun and he has an athletic delivery that he repeats very well. Danny tossed 41 innings last season with a 2.54 ERA.
