Casteel Edges Sunnyslope on Walk Off
A bases loaded walk to Jaxson Carrasco in the bottom of the 8th inning drove in the game winner as Casteel dropped Sunnyslope 3-2.
It was an unlikely end to a game that featured an outstanding pitcher’s del between ‘slope’s Drew Bond and Casteel’s Tyler Moore.
Both pitchers cruised through the first 5 innings with no damage done until the bottom of the 6th, when Casteel’s Connor Hatch led off with a line drive base knock to right field. Two batters later, Matthew Fike lined a ball up the gap in right center for a double, scoring Hatch with the game’s first run.
Casteel would then attempt a suicide squeeze, but Carrasco couldn;t get the bat on the ball and Hatch was dead meat for the first out of the inning.
Carrasco would make amends with a deep fly ball to center, scoring Fike and making it 2-0.

Tyler Moore
