Hamilton Ends Basha’s Win Streak
Hamilton rallied from a 4-0 deficit to hand Basha it’s first power points loss 10-4.
The Bears jumped on Hamilton starter Shane Murphy in the first inning when Ty Siffermann reached on an infield error and came around to score on Bitner Workman’s triple. Tanner Smith followed with an RBI single and it was 2-0.
The Bears added on in the 4th when Siffermann walked, moved to third on Ryland Zaborowski’s double, and scored on Cam Laliberte’s single.
Zaborowski would score on a double play grounder to make it 4-0 Bears.
Meanwhile, Basha starter Jonathan Weiss was cruising along, facing the minimum hitters for the first 3 frames, and allowing only a 4th inning single.
In the 5th, Will Maxey drew a one out walk, and Brandon Hill singled.
After Kyle Hasler flew out for the 2nd out of the inning, the floodgates opened.
Easton Erwin got the Huskies on the board with a deep double that short hopped the fence in center.
Brock Selvidge then lined a drive down the right field line for another double to make it 4-3.
Dustin Bermudez followed with a single to left, scoring Selvidge and knotting the score at 4-4.
Michael Brueser was next, and on a 2-2 count the junior launched a no-doubter over the fence in left and just like that it was 6-4 Huskies.
In the 6th Hamilton struck again.
Tyler Wilson led off with a double to left.
Brandon Hill lined another double to left to score Wilson.
Hasler dropped a parachute pop fly into center for another knock, scoring Hill, and Easton Erwin drove in a run with a sac fly and it was 9-4 Huskies.
In the top of the 7th Bermudez led off with a bomb to left field to make it 10-4, and Tally Wright came on to close things out in the bottom of the 7th.
Murphy earned the W, working 6 innngs and allowing 6 hits and 4 runs, 2 of which were unearned. He punched out 5.
Bermudez was 3-4 with a homer , 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
Hill was 2-3 with a double for Hamilton
For Basha, Workman was 2-4.
The 2 teams will face off again today at Hamilton.
Pinnacle 5 O’Connor 0
Jackson Moltz allowed only one single in 5 innings of shutout ball as Pinnacle blanked O’Connor 5-0.
Michael Modrick threw 2 scoreless with 3 Ks to close it out.
Nolan Brooks was 2-3 with a double, ann RBi and a run scored.
Perry 10 Chandler 8
Perry rallied for 5 runs in the 6th and 4 runs in the top of the 7th inning and took a 10-8 win over Chandler High.
Ryan Lucero was 3-3 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
Dustin Crenshaw and Connor Abernathy were both 2-4
Michael Kasik theww well for CHandler, working 5 1/3 innings ad allowing 4 unearned runs with 8 Ks.
Kasik also went deep for the Wolves.
CJ Valdez got the win in relief , throwing 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
Mountain Ridge 9 Chaparral 3
Zach Rogers allowed just 3 hits in 6 innings on the hill as Mountain Ridge topped Chaparral 9-3.
Travis Warriner, Brock Peery and Keegan Stancato all had 2 hits for the Mountain Lions.
Mountain View 11 Mesa 8
Cam Jowaiszas homered twice, doubled and knocked in 3 runs as Mountain View won a slugfest over Mesa 11-8.
McKay Barney, Tyler Barnes, Thome Nickelson, Bennett Wagner and Jeremy Krause all had 2 hit games.
Jacob Hanna and Jonas Rogers both homered for Mesa.
Westwood 15 Red Mountain 9
Westwood used a 10 run 3rd inning to outslug Red Mountain 15-9.
The two teams pounded out 14 hits apiece.
Manny Collier went 3-4 with 2 doubles and scored 3 times.
Crew Parke was 2-4 with 3 RBIs.
Logan Schober homered and knocked in 3 runs for RM.
Valley Vista 9 Westview 8
Valley Vista rallied late and then held off a 7th inning Westview rally to take a 9-8 win.
Brysen Hamilton went 2-4 with a homer and 4 RBIs.
Connor Smith and Ricardo Antilon each had 2 hits.
Larry Ross doubled twice, homered and drove in 5 runs for Westview.
Jack Nehls also homered.
Tolleson 4 Shadow Ridge 2
Ramon Ramirez tossed a complete game and 3-3 with 2 runs scored as Tolleson beat Shadow Ridge 4-2.
Ramirez allowed 9 hits and did not walk a batter.
Ramon Velasco homered for T Town.
Horizon 3 McClintock 0
Tanner Scheub threw 6 innings of shutout ball to lead Horizon to a 3-0 win over McClintock.
Kody Huff and Bobby Koch had 2 hits apiece for the Huskies.
Mesquite 1 Saguaro 0
Malik Freeny threw 5 1/3 scoreless innings for Mesquite in a 1-0 win over Saguaro.
Jacob Henderson tossed 1 2/3 scoreless to earn the save and drove in the game’s only run.
Holden Breeze and TJ Clarkson had 3 hits each for Mesquite.
