Householder Named Wendy’s Heisman Finalist
Chapparal 2018 Catcher Karsten Householder has been named one of 10 finalists nationwide for the Wendy’s High School Heisman award.
The Wendy’s High School Heisman is awarded to top athletic, academic and community service performers from around the nation.
Each state has a male and female winner who is awarded a $1000 scholarship.
Five male and 5 females are selected from each of 5 geographic regions of the country, and each National Finalist receives a $5000 scholarship award.
One male and one female National Winners are selected from the 10 National Finalists and each is awarded an additional $10,000.00 in scholarship money.
Karsten is a 3 year member of the Firebird varsity squad. He appeared in 20 games in 2017 , hitting .276.
Academically, Karsten is a National Merit Scholar and a member of the National Honor Society and the National Spanish Honor Society.
He is also active in the Martial Arts, practicing both Judo and Karate.
Karsten is President of the Medical Doctor Club at Chaparral and has a great deal of community service involvement as well.
