Mountain Ridge Edges Boulder Creek
Rogers walked lead off hittter Jake Wright to start the game and when Wright would come around to score on a Casey Wayne ground out the Jags would take a 1-0 lead.
That was it for the BC offense , however.
Rogers would go on to toss 6 innings and allow 3 hits with 6 Ks and the Lions took their first region win and moved to 4-1 in power point games.
Brock Peery worked a scorless 7th to pick up the save.
BC starter Logan Deskin matched Rogers pitch for pitch. The junior right hander worked 6 innings, scattering 5 hits and allowing one earned run in a tough luck loss.
Ridge tied the score at 1 in the 3rd inning when Brock Arnold walked and would come around to score on a Ryan Ellis sac fly.
In the 4th Ridge would score the eventual game winner when Travis Warriner walked and later scored with 2 outs on a passed ball.
Brock Peery was 2-3 at the plate for Ridge.
Desert Mountain 4 Saguaro 3
Elijah Hennig singled in a pair of runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to give Desert Mountain the lead and send the Wolves to a 4-3 win over Saguaro.
Hennig was 2-3 on the day and knocked in 3 of the 4 DM runs.
Max Walker earned the mound win in relief.
Brock Jessup threw 2 innings of scoreless ball to earn the save.

Notre Dame 10 Betty Fairfax 0 (5 Inn)
Connor Markl threw a 5 inning 1 hit shutout and punched out 8 to lead Desert Mountain to a 10-0 win over Fairfax.
Tag Bross went 2-3 at the plate with a homer, 3 runs scored and 3 RBIs.
Blaze Borowski and Connor Maguire each had 2 hits and 2 RBIs.
Chandler 7 Mesa 7 (Game suspended after 8 Inn)- Report Corrected
Mesa took a 7-0 lead in the first, with Chandler committing 4 errors.
Jacob Hanna was solid on the mound for Mesa.
Chandler fought back to tie it in bottom of the 7th.
In the btm of the 8th, Chandler started with a leadoff double, followed with an intentional walk, a pass ball moved the runners to 2nd and 3rd, then another intentional walk to load the bases with no outs.
Zac Quintana entered the game and struck out the side to keep the game tied.
Shadow Mountain 4 Paradise Valley 2
Shadow Mountain scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to take a 4-2 win over Paradise Valley.
Colton McIntosh had a pair of doubles and scored a run for the Matadors.
Brandon Lewis tossed 3 scoreless innings in relief to earn the W.
Cienega 5 Sahuaro 2
Cienega took advantage of 5 Sahuaro errors and 5 walks to take a 5-2 win over the Cougars.
Cienega could only manage 3 hits on the day, but starting pitcher Jacob Ortiz was the difference.
Ortiz pitched a complete game, allowing 4 hits and 2 unearned runs with 5 Ks.
Terrell Hayward had a double and 2 RBIs for Cienega.
Horizon 4 Gilbert 3
Horizon hung a first inning 4 spot, and that would prove to be enough as the Huskies downed Gilbert 4-3.
Gilbert jumped out to a 2-0 first inning lead on an Eli Young 2 run blast.
Horizon answered right back with RBI singles from Nick Gore and Sam Buchkowski and a 2 RBI double by Christian Jacob to make it 4-2.
Tanner Scheub threw 4 innings, allowing 4 hits and 3 runs for the win.
Kody Huff worked 2 scoreless in relief to earn a save.
Gilbert’s Ryan Meyer threw 6 strong innings, blanking the Huskies for the final 5 and punching out 12 in a losing effort.
