Notes From The Yard – July 3 , 2018
There are dozens of Arizona high school alums playing in Summer Collegiate Leagues around the country, but in Palmer, Alaska, a group of AZ guys are enjoying the north country while playing in the very competitive Alaska Baseball league with the Matsu Miners.
Miners Head Coach Ben Taylor is a longtime fixture in Arizona coaching circles, and is currently the Associate Head Coach at Chandler-Gilbert CC.
This year Ben has brought a pair of Arizona guys in as assistant coaches.
Jeff Urlaub, recently named the new Head Coach at Horizon High School, is serving as the Miners Pitching Coach.
Tyler Lebrun, a Sunnyslope High and South Mountain CC alum, and an Assistant Coach at Sunnyslope, is an Assistant Coach for the Miners as well.
