Perry Takes Down O’Connor
Perry and senior right hander Ty Pohlmann made it 2-0 against top northwest valley teams as the Pumas hosted O’Connor and dropped the Eagles 11-6.
One week ago to the day Pohlmann took down Matthew Liberatore and Mountain Ridge 2-1.
This time it was SDO who had a hard time figuring out the big UNLV signee. Pohlmann allowed a solo run in the top of the first on a Mason Skaugrud RBI single, then settled in and blanked SDO for the next 3 innngs.
The Perry offense tied things in the bottom of the first when Dustin Crenshaw singled in CJ Valdez, then scored 3 times in the 3rd and 5 times in the fifth to take a 9-1 lead.
Pohlman started to run out of gas in the fifth, allowing a solo homer to Amari Bartee and a grand slam to Noah Nithman to cut the lead to 9-6.
Perry slapped out 12 hits on the day, all of them singles.
Dustin Crenshaw was 3-4 with 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
Logan Schwenke was 3-3 for the Pumas.
Pohlmann punched out 7 in his 5 innings of work to get the victory.
Alex Kelch went 3-3 with 2 doubles, a homer and 6 RBIs as Tucson High smoked Ironwood Ridge 11-1.
Josue Barcelo, Omar Escobedo, and Raul Soto Romero all had 2 hit days for the Badgers.
Willow Canyon defeated Goldwater 11-4.
Connor Still was 3-5 with a double for the Wildcats.
Nolan Lovett and Dallan Curthoys each doubled and had 2 hits.
Tyler Adling got the win on the hill with 5 innings of work.
Curthoys tossed 2 scoreless in relief.
The ‘cats’ blew the game open in the top of the 7th with 7 runs.

James Rosenhagen smoked a 2 run bomb in the first to make it 3-0.
Rosenhagen, Tyler Cranston, Joe Terlizzi, and Jarrett Pille all had 2 hit games for the Saints.
Jared Farguhar scattered 8 hits over 6 innings to secure the W. Zach Zdimal tossed a scoreless 7th for the win.
For Chaparral Tyler Stone, Karsten Householder and Conner Jones all had 2 hits.
Nogales mercy ruled Buena 12-2 in 5 innings.
Kevin Jimenez was 2-2 with a double and homer and drove in 3 runs.
Jorge Borquez was 2-3 with a double.
Shadow Mountain prevaled in a pitchers duel over Moon Valley 2-0.
Colton McIntosh threw 6 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits with 9 Ks for the win.
He out-dueled the Rockets’ Jonny Garcia, who allowed only 5 hits in a complete game effort with 7 punch outs.
The Rockets scored a pair of runs in the fifth on an RBI sac fly from Ben Baron and a Jonathan Gayton RBI single.
